I can't tell you how many times I spent looking through magazines, blogs, sites and books to see the latest beauty, fashion and health buzz. And when I was looking for "how to be a makeup artist" I was so surprized to see so many people simply say education was not needed. That you can simply go around and share your passion and somehow it will stick. But the truth of the matter is education helps set you apart from every gal out there that calls herself a makeup artist and guru.
Altough having passion, and being artistic can get you far; it is truly a benefit to know what your talking about. There is something great when you say "I took the time to educate myself on the industry, science and field". I loved myself enough to see that goal through in all aspects of my career choice.
I too took that leap and signed up for Miller-Motte Tech College. It has a amazing Esthetics program, small classroom setting, and not to mention a amazing staff that truly wants to see me win. I feel so comforted through my process because of that support too.
I am not sure if you have that support in your town but what ever you have to do to reach your dream I encourage you to find it. Get attached to positive people, invest your time and energy only in those things that will truly make you happy and feed your spirit, and lets hit the ground running.
